Saw this poem by Yeats today - liked the wording. Its called "An Irishman foresees his death"

I know that I shall meet my fate
Somewhere among the clouds above;
Those that I fight I do not hate,
Those that I guard I do not love;
My county is Kiltartan Cross,
My countrymen Kiltartan's poor,
No likely end could bring them loss
Or leave them happier than before.
Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,
Nor public men, nor cheering crowds,
A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death.

- It fits the current state of being I guess..... "The years to come seemed waste of breath, a waste of breath, the years behind, in balance with this life - this death".

Theres a special quality to silence when there is focus. Time bends, sounds fade and there is tunnel vision.

For this alone am I willing to endure hours of painful interaction with other human beings.

For the addictive feeling that this brings.

Tennis elbow and all.

Posters of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

So Mumbai streets are full of these posters - and you get these series.... one of Hritik, followed by one of Farhan and the third of Abhay. (I know there is a poster controversy about these being copied but thats a different story).

So what struck me was the marketing brain behind these posters. Hritiks got the bod right? - the rippling six (or is eight these days?) pack - so of course hes shown in a low slung jeans with the standard tanned torso. Farhan is the nerd - lithe but not muscular - shoulders are good enough so he goes with the singlet option. AD is the boy next door - cute - but he won't give either lithe or muscular a run for their money, so he gets the teeshirt with the backpack to boot. Very typical.....

Interesting trend.

Havent seen the movie so don't know if the marketing is consistent with characterization - should be interesting to view.
